Baotou library and children

The design focuses on the publicity of buildings and their contribution to the city. Public space provides a bearing platform for users' activities. The boundaries between squares and buildings, squares and roads, internal squares and public squares are softened and blurred, so that the interfaces between them continue continuously. Public spaces and functional spaces penetrate each other, resulting in a large number of flowing and quality composite use spaces Users' activities provide more hosting platforms. The inspiration of the design comes from the special landform features of the rolling prairie in Inner Mongolia. The site has formed a huge jump curve of more than 400 meters from east to west, and the whole building complex is just like growing from the ground. The curvilinear design of the library and children's palace promotes the interaction among users, public squares and buildings to the greatest extent. The atrium extending from the outdoor to the indoor leads in the sunlight to the greatest extent. The open stairs and corridors, as well as the streamline green area and pavement part extending into the interior of the two buildings, enhance the visual coherence in the space, and provide a polysemy space full of drama for people.

The facade of the new library and children's palace uses stone materials, composite ecological boards, aluminum profiles, and concrete hanging boards with pre glazed bricks. All kinds of material characteristics are highly coordinated and unified in a context, strengthening the integrity and integration of the project. For the children's palace, the internal C-shaped courtyard and the central public square form a circular communication space, and on the circular space interface, the line of sight is guided by the shapes of different heights, colors and blocks, forming a platform of different elevations suitable for children's playing.
